Ralph Papa, chairman of Citizens Bank of Pennsylvania, has received the Alumni Achievement Award at Robert Morris University in Moon.

The award is presented to an Robert Morris graduate who has achieved professional distinction.

Mr. Papa who earned an associate's degree in 1967 received his award last month during homecoming festivities.

He joined Citizens Financial Group in 2001 after it purchased various banking operations of Mellon Financial Corp. Prior to joining Citizens, Papa was president of Mellon Bank's western region in Pittsburgh and chairman of Mellon Bank N.A., Central Region in State College.

Ashley Schmider, 17, a senior at South Fayette High School, was presented to Bishop David A. Zubik at the recent 45th Medallion Ball at the Pittsburgh Hilton.

She was among 120 young women to receive the Joan of Arc Medallion for volunteer work for community and charitable organizations. She was escorted by Michael Lavin, of Bridgeville, to the ball, which raises funds for the Blind and Vision Rehabilitation Services of Pittsburgh.

Ashley has completed more than 100 volunteer hours at St. Clair Hospital, the American Heart Association, South Fayette's Little Lions' Academy and the South Fayette Public Library.

She is the vice president of the National Honor Society and she is active in the Future Business Leaders of America.

Chelsey Hennemuth, of Oakdale, a junior at Saint Vincent College, has been elected vice president of the Student Government Association Executive Board. She will assume her new responsibilities for a one-year term beginning in January.

Ms. Hennemuth, a 2006 graduate of West Allegheny High School, is pursuing a double major in graphic design and communication with a concentration in public relations and advertising.

At St. Vincent, she is a junior class senator in the Student Government Association, chair of the Student Affairs Committee, chair of the Residence Hall Council, Residence Hall representative and a member of the Housing Task Force.

• Robert Morris University junior Kevin Senko, of Scott, will spend five months in the Middle East in the university's Study Abroad program. He recently was awarded a William Jefferson Clinton Scholarship at the American University in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The William Jefferson Clinton Scholars program enables U.S.-based students to expand their educational and cultural experiences by studying in Dubai.

A 2006 Chartiers High School graduate, he will be studying Middle Eastern history and politics, as well as money and banking, and investment and portfolio management.
