Bob's pick: 'The Canterbury Tales'
Book editor Bob Hoover's selection of the week
Tuesday, November 18, 2008

English lit majors know the road to the degree goes through "The Canterbury Tales," Geoffrey Chaucer's masterpiece that some of us had to read in the original Middle English and still aren't sure what it was all about. The Modern Library has issued an unabridged translation of the epic, written mostly in the 1390s, in a handsome $36 edition.
